Client portals

Give your clients and partners a portal on the data you already have

Nodavelo is an AI app builder for client, partner and subcontractor portals. Describe the portal and AI builds it on the data you already hold: Nodavelo's own database, Supabase, Xano, HubSpot, Airtable or Google Sheets. Each client logs in and sees only their own records. No fee per portal user, and you can export the app and host it anywhere.

Used by teams at PwC, BNP Paribas, Carrefour and La Poste, and by thousands of smaller businesses.

For you if

  • Clients, partners or subcontractors phone or email for things they should see themselves: a shipment status, an invoice, an order, a job, a document.
  • That information already exists in your CRM, your accounting tool, a spreadsheet or a database, but only staff can see it.
  • Each outsider must see only their own records, and some of them need to act: approve a quote, upload a photo, mark a job done, sign off a deliverable.
  • Off-the-shelf portal software looks like the vendor, not like you, and charges per client.
  • Nobody on the team codes, or an agency built the portal you have and every change is a quote and a wait.

Not for you if

  • You sell the portal itself to many companies as a product. That is a B2B SaaS.
  • You need a native app in the App Store. Nodavelo portals are web apps that open in a phone's browser and can be installed on the home screen.
  • Your portal fits a standard template and you will never need custom logic, your own design or code export. Softr is quicker to start.
  • You want a marketing website or an online shop. Nodavelo builds applications.

What a business gives its clients, partners and subcontractors

A login per outsider, their own records only, under your brand, on data your staff already keep.

A customer portal: orders, shipments, invoices, documents, tickets

Each customer logs in and sees their own, so they stop asking.

A logistics company whose clients ask ten times a day where their shipment is; a 3D-scanning studio whose clients download large files and approve deliverables; 300 customers with a login to their own orders and invoices.

A partner or reseller portal: price lists, orders, order status, invoices

Orders placed in the portal, billed through Stripe, visible to the partner from placement to payment.

A manufacturer's resellers.

A subcontractor or field-partner portal: jobs, photos, sign-off, on a phone

Jobs assigned in the portal instead of by phone and WhatsApp. The subcontractor sees their jobs, uploads photos and marks them done.

A construction or trades business; a logistics company's drivers.

A client portal for a firm: documents, quotes, invoices, requests, under your brand

Clients upload documents, sign off quotes and see where their request stands, in a portal that looks like your firm.

An accounting firm; a health-benefits broker whose clients want to see their plans and open requests. For accountants · For law firms · For small business

A parent, patient, member or investor portal

Attendance, grades and invoices for parents. Appointments, exercise plans and documents for patients, with the app hosted on your own infrastructure if the data must stay there. Reports and documents for investors.

A school; a physiotherapy clinic.Investor portal

Ship the first version this week, then change it yourself

Five simple steps to build fully secure apps that scale.

Step 1

Connect the data they keep asking about

Start on Nodavelo's own database, or connect the data you already have. Nothing is duplicated: the portal reads the same records your staff see. All native integrations.

Step 2

Describe the portal

Nodavelo AI builds the pages, the logins and the backend logic. Prefer Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor? Build from your own agent through the Nodavelo MCP, on your own key.

Step 3

Decide who sees what

A login per client, partner or subcontractor, with roles. Each user's rows are filtered on their account in the backend, on every table view and endpoint, not just hidden in the interface. Sign-up off, so you create the accounts; sign in with Google, Microsoft or 30+ other SSO providers. How auth works.

Step 4

Let them act

Approving a quote, uploading a document or a photo, opening a ticket, booking a slot: each runs a workflow that writes the record and tells the right person by email, Slack or WhatsApp. Invoices and orders through Stripe.

Step 5

Lock what works, then publish

Once the pages and tables your clients use are right, protect them. AI can still read them for context, but can't create, edit, rename or delete them. These are strict, deterministic rules, not a prompt asking the AI to be careful. Then publish on your own domain with hosting, backups and environments handled, or export the app and host it on your own infrastructure.

Portal software, Softr, an agency or an AI app builder: the trade-offs

Questions people ask before they build

Can I build a client portal on the data I already have in HubSpot, Airtable, Google Sheets or Supabase, where each customer only sees their own records?

Yes. Connect the source and build the portal on it where it lives. Nothing is copied or migrated. Each customer gets a login, and their rows are securely filtered on their account in the backend, on every table view and endpoint, not only hidden in the interface. You can mix sources in one portal and keep separate accounts for editing, staging and production.

What's the cheapest way to give 300 customers a login to see their orders and invoices?

Pay for the people who build the portal, not for the people who use it. Nodavelo charges per builder seat: app users are unlimited on every plan, so 300 customers cost the same as 10. Essential from $20/month, billed annually, includes code export and self-hosting.

Softr can handle portal workflows, but I need more control over the interface and the option to host the app myself. Which builder should I consider?

Nodavelo. You can design custom layouts and interactions, connect them to visual workflows, and export the app to host on your own infrastructure. Softr also supports approvals, conditional steps, and notifications through workflows and integrations, so those features alone aren’t a reason to switch. Consider Nodavelo when control over the user experience and deployment is what matters most.

An agency built our portal three years ago and nobody can change it. If we rebuild it with AI, how do we stop the AI from breaking what clients already use?

Rebuild it on the same data in Nodavelo, then lock the pages, workflows and tables your clients use. AI can read them for context but can't change them: these are rules the platform enforces strictly, not a prompt asking it to be careful. Everything stays visible and editable by your team in the visual editor.

"We give the client their own Nodavelo space, so they can maintain the application themselves. If they want to work with another agency later, they can." Omar Elhadidi, Appy Makers

Can I build a patient or client portal and keep the data on our own infrastructure?

Yes. Keep the data in a backend you control and connect Nodavelo to it, and export the portal to host it on your own servers or cloud, so nothing sensitive passes through Nodavelo. Compliance then rests on your hosting, your backend and your auth provider, which is where regulated teams want it. Teams building for hospitals use this architecture.

Does the portal work for subcontractors or field engineers on a phone?

Yes. A Nodavelo portal is a web app that works in the phone's browser and can be installed on the home screen like an app, with nothing to download from a store. Layouts adapt to the screen, so a subcontractor sees their jobs, uploads a photo and marks a job done from site.
